Sherwin Creek Campground
Sherwin Creek Campground is 2½ miles east of Mammoth Lakes Village. Although Sherwin Creek Campground doesn't have all the amenities of the other campgrounds at Mammoth Lakes, it offers a quiet refuge away from the buzz of activity around the lakes and town.
Sherwin Creek Campground opens early in May, ahead of many of the others. Many campers at Sherwin Creek take the time to hike up the trail to scenic Sherwin Lakes. Great views of Mammoth Mountain open up as you ascend the trail.
Sherwin Creek Campground has 85 campsites may be reserved. Most of them are standard sites that can accommodate RVs, trailers, or tents. Fifteen sites are walk-in, tent-only sites set apart from the rest of the campground. The tent sites are the nicest in the campground, situated close to chattering Sherwin Creek. Campers at Sherwin Creek Campground may stay up to 21 nights.
