Minaret Falls Campground

Minaret Falls Campground has a beautiful setting along the upper Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River. Nearby, Minaret Creek cascades into the river. A host of activities beckon visitors. Fishing is good in the river and lakes. Horseback riding can be arranged at Red's Meadow.

The geologic wonders of the Devils Postpile are not to be missed. Hiking trails head out in several directions.

A narrow access road leads to Minaret Falls Campground. While camping here drivers may bypass the Reds Meadow Shuttle Bus, but are still required to pay a $10 entrance fee. The shuttle only operates in summer. The campground has 27 sites for RVs, trailers, and tents. All the sites are first come, first served.

Key Minaret Falls Campground Regulations

  1. Fires are only allowed in fire rings.
  2. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  3. Dogs must be on leash and attended at all times. No more than 2 pets are permitted per campsite.
  4. To avoid problems with bears, keep food in bear-proof lockers if provided, otherwise in your vehicle.

Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Purchase firewood locally to avoid spreading pests.

Those camped at Minaret Falls Campground are close to the Devils Postpile and Reds Meadow with a variety of attractions for outdoor enthusiasts. Use the free shuttle to get from place to place anywhere in the Reds Meadow valley.
