New Shady Rest Campground - Mammoth Lakes

New Shady Rest Campground - Mammoth Lakes is located near the Village of Mammoth Lakes in the Eastern Sierra. Although 3½ miles from the main cluster of lakes, the campground is close to free public transportation connecting to the lakes, excellent paved bike trails, Mammoth Ski Resort, and other amenities.

New Shady Rest Campground - Mammoth Lakes is more than 1,000 feet lower than the campgrounds around the lakes, allowing it to open earlier in the year and often stay open longer in the fall. The campground is near the original Shady Rest Campground and Pine Glen Campground.

New Shady Rest Campground - Mammoth Lakes features 92 campsites, all of which may be reserved. All the campsites can accommodate trailers, RVs, and tents. Campsites are located around two large loops.

Key New Shady Rest Campground Regulations

  1. Avoid problems with bears, by keeping food in bear-proof lockers if provided.
  2. Fires are only allowed in fire rings.
  3. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  4. Dogs must be on leash and attended at all times. No more than 2 pets are permitted per campsite.
