Bushytail Campground
Bushytail Campground is located in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, on a ridge above Trinity Lake. With a variety of single through quadruple campsites, and amenities such as electricity and water hook-ups available, the campground is especially popular with multi-family groups who want to gather for a vacation. At nearby Trinity Lake, boating, waterskiing, and fishing are popular activities.
Bushytail Campground has 12 campsites. Of those, 6 are single sites for up to 8 people. Double campsites with water and electric (15amp) hookups will accommodate up to 2 RVs and 16 people. A triple site with water and electric hookup will accommodate up to 3 RVs and 24 people. The quad site has four aprons and is available for four single families if not reserved; two of the parking aprons have electric and water hookups.
The Forest Service website and the reservation website don't agree on how many people can be in each site. We tend to trust the reservation website, which usually has the most current information.
The campground is in a grove of Ponderosa pines and Douglas firs. Most campsites have paved areas around the table and cooking areas, making them accessible for those in wheelchairs. Included in Bushytail Campground is a group social area with serving tables, a group barbecue pit, group pedestal grill, and bear locker. The Clark Springs boat ramp is less than a mile from the campground.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.
Accessible Sites
Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
