Hayward Flat Campground

Hayward Flat Campground is along an inlet on Trinity Lake in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The campground is among the most popular around the lake because of its great lake access and abundant shade. The protected inlet by the campground usually has glassy water, great for waterskiing and wakeboarding. Anglers do well from the shore as well as trolling from a boat. A boat ramp is 3 miles away. Mooring of boats at the campground may be available.

Hayward Flat Campground offers 98 campsites in 5 loops. Those in the Dogwood and Elderberry loops have lake views and possible boat mooring. Of all the campsites, 65 can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Ten are designated for tents-only. Another 22 sites are available for RVs, trailers and tents, but reservations for them are non-specific, which means campers will be assigned a site upon arrival. In addition, the campground has 6 Group Campsites.
