Caswell Memorial State Park Campground is the heart of Caswell Memorial State Park. Campers there enjoy a shady retreat only steps away from the gently flowing Stanislaus River, 5 miles southwest of Ripon.
The river bank is a popular destination for fishing for bass, catfish, and crappie. Swimming beaches attract many campers in the summer when water levels are safe. Nature trails weave through 258 acres of oak-riparian woodlands, offering visitors a chance to view various birds and other wildlife.
Caswell Memorial State Park Campground has 64 campsites which can accommodate tents and small RVs or trailers. Many sites are near the river. Trees provide ample shade to the campsites. The campground also has a Group Campsite for up to 50 people.

Cool off at the swimming beach on the Stanislaus River when water levels are safe. No lifeguards are on duty. Children should wear life jackets whenever near the river.
Don your lifejacket, launch your inner tube, and float downstream to the day use area.

Caswell Memorial State Park Campground has a group campground which can accommodate up to 50 people. Vehicles are parked in a nearby parking lot and campers make a short walk to the tents-only campsite. Restrooms with flush toilets and showers are located at the campsite.

General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the reservation website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.
