Marmot Rock Campground
Marmot Rock Campground sits at the southern end of Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Courtright Reservoir in the Sierra National Forest. The lake is popular for fishing and boating. With a 10 MPH speed limit, Courtright is enjoyed by paddlers in kayaks and canoes.
Trails lead into the Dinkey Creek and John Muir wildernesses. Bring your camera for stunning photos of this beautiful mountain lake. The long drive to the campground deters some campers. It is 34 miles from Shaver Lake to the campground.
Marmot Rock Campground has 15 walk-in, tent-only campsites. Sites tend to be close together. Most sites are tucked in the shade of a lodgepole pine forest, others are more open with wonderful lake views. A 2-night minimum stay is required when making reservations.
