Orchard Springs Campground

Orchard Springs Campground is on the southwest shore of Rollins Lake, 15 miles from Colfax. Rollins Lake is operated by the Nevada Irrigation District. Campers at Rollins Lake enjoy all kinds of water sports, including swimming, waterskiing, and wakeboarding. Jet skis are permitted on the lake. Fishing is good for trout, Kokanee, catfish, and bass. The campground has a boat launch ramp, boat rentals, a swim beach, and volleyball.

RV Camping and Tent Camping at Orchard Springs Campground

Orchard Springs Campground offers 91 campsites for RVs, trailers, or tents. Fourteen of the campsites are classified as Premium RV sites with full hook-ups (30 amp). A handful of sites are designated as prime, water-view sites. The remainder are set farther back from the lake on a hillside. Sites 250 - 253A on a rounded hilltop not far from the beach are among the most popular campsites. There is a $8 per night fee for watercraft. There is a 2-night minimum stay for any reservation and 3-nights on holiday weekends. One-night stays are allowed for drop-in campers.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, purchase firewood locally.

Key Orchard Springs Campground Regulations

  1. Entrance Gates close at 10:00 PM (midnight Friday and Saturday) and reopen at 6:00 AM during the summer.
  2. There are no lifeguards on duty. Swim in the designated swim area.
  3. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
  4. Generators may not be used at this campground.
  5. Fires are only permitted in the established fire pits and BBQ grills.
  6. Pets must be on leash and attended at all times. Pets are not allowed in the swim areas. No horses are allowed in the campground.
