Greenhorn Campground
Greenhorn Campground - Rollins Lake - is on a northern arm of Rollins Lake, 7 miles from Colfax. Rollins Lake is operated by the Nevada Irrigation District (NID); however, NID does not operate Greenhorn Campground. Campers at Rollins Lake enjoy all kinds of water sports, including swimming, waterskiing, and wakeboarding. Jet skis are allowed on the lake. Fishing is good for trout, Kokanee, catfish, and bass. Greenhorn Campground has a boat launch ramp, limited boat rentals, a swim beach, store, game room, and horseshoes. On weekends they show movies.
RV Camping and Tent Camping at Greenhorn Campground
Greenhorn Campground - Rollins Lake - features about 40 campsites on gravel or dirt pads for RV camping and tent camping. Some of the campsites are lakefront. Campsites are divided into several areas such as Rocky Point, Lake Front, Meadow, Pine Grove, Cabana, and Wagon Wheel.
Greenhorn Campground also has a variety of Group Campsites,
Boaters passing lakefront sites on Rocky Point are inside a no wake zone, but they do not always respect the signs. Meadow and Wagon Wheel sites have limited shade. Pine Grove sites are well shaded, but some are on slopes. Boats can be moored beside Lake Front campsites. There is an additional fee of $7 per day for each boat.
