Englebright Lake Boat-in Campgrounds

Englebright Lake Boat-in Campgrounds are spread along its 24 miles of miles of winding shoreline in the foothills of Nevada and Yuba counties. Visitors often start their day at Skippers Cove Marina where there are boat rentals, a launch ramp, and other facilities. Popular activities on the lake include fishing, water skiing, and pleasure boating. The lake is operated by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Englebright Lake Boat-in Campgrounds are found at 16 sites around the lake, with a total of 95 campsites. None of the campsites at Englebright Lake are accessible by car. All the campsites are first-come, first served. Some sites are on beaches, others tucked in coves, and some along the river. Potable water is available at the two launch ramps - at the Narrows Day Use Area near the dam and the Joe Miller Ravine Ramp. The Boston Bar Campground has Group Campsites.

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.

Only a few miles west of Grass Valley, Englebright Lake offers a variety of recreation opportunities. Campers at one of the Englebright Lake Boat-in Campgrounds can access all of the lake's attractions.

  • Enjoy water skiing, wake boarding, and pleasure boating.
  • Explore beaches and coves or hike to waterfalls and meadows.
  • Have a family picnic along the shore.
  • Rent all kinds of boats from houseboats to ski and fishing boats at Skippers Cove Marina.
  • Take advantage of the 24-hour showers and laundry at the marina.
  • Cast your line into the lake for trout, bass, crappie, bluegills, and catfish.
  • Hike on the Black Swan Trail found along Mooney Flat Road.
  • Head over to Harmon Grove Park and Sycamore Ranch along Highway 20. Both are Yuba County Parks.
  • Drive up to South Yuba River State Park.

Key Boat-in Campground Regulations

  1. Fires: are only permitted in designated grills, not on beaches.
  2. Dogs must be on leash and always attended. At night they must be in a tent or vehicle.
  3. Quiet Hours extend from 10 PM to 6 AM.
