Long Ravine Campground

Long Ravine Campground is on the southeast shore of Rollins Lake only a couple of miles off Interstate 80 at Colfax. The popular camping and boating lake is operated by the Nevada Irrigation District. Campers at Long Ravine Campground take to the water for fishing and all kinds of water sports, including waterskiing. Long Ravine operates a marina with a boat ramp and boat rentals adjacent to the campground. Nearby are a swim platform and slide.

RV Camping and Tent Camping at Long Ravine Campground

Long Ravine Campground has about 70 campsites for RV camping and tent camping near the lake. The campground is spread through a forest of pines and oaks. A short walk or drive (about 1/3-mile) is required to reach the beach. Thirty-five of the campsites are standard sites for both RV camping and tent camping. Seven campsites have full RV hook-ups and another 11 have partial RV hook-ups. Thirteen spacious sites are listed as prime and 4 are lake sites, adjacent to the water. There is a $8 per night fee for watercraft. All reservations require a 2-night minimum stay, 3 nights on holiday weekends. One-night stays are permitted for drop-ins.

Long Ravine Campground also has 5 Group Campsites, 3 of which permet some RVs.

Reservations available at Long Ravine Reservations available for camping dates from January through September become available on the first business day in January. From October through December campsites are first-come, first-served.
Groups of 6 or more campsites can start booking in early December (usually the 2nd Monday).

Attractions and Activities

Campers at Long Ravine Campground are close to all the wonderful attractions around Rollins Lake.

Key Long Ravine Campground Regulations

  1. Entrance Gates close at 10:00 PM (midnight Friday and Saturday) and reopen at 6:00 AM.
  2. There are no lifeguards on duty. Swimming is only allowed in designated swim area.
  3. Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. No use of generators is allowed during those times.
  4. Fires are only permitted in the established fire pits and BBQ grills.
  5. Pets must be on leash and attended at all times. Pets are not allowed on the beach area. Horses are no allowed at Long Ravine.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, purchase firewood locally.

Accessible Sites

Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
