East Fork Campground

East Fork Campground is spread along Rock Creek Road, 6½ miles west of Highway 395 at Tom's Place. Campers at East Fork Campground are only 3 miles from pretty Rock Creek Lake with swimming, fishing, and boating. Rock Creek Lake has a 5 MPH speed limit. A nice day-use area with a beach is located on the southeastern side of the lake.

Several miles farther up the road are popular trails for day hikes into Little Lakes Valley. Nearby are mountain biking trails.

East Fork Campground has 133 campsites around several loops. Some sites are along the creek with good shade; others are more open. Twenty-five sites are designated for tents only. The rest of the campsites can accommodate RVs, trailers and tents. Most of the campsites can be reserved while some are available first-come, first-served.

Reservations accepted East Fork Campground reservations are available for camping dates from mid-May to early October. At other times when the campground is open, sites are first-come, first-served.
Booking Window: Reservations taken from 4 days up to 6 months in advance of arrival.

  • Drive 10 miles down to Crowley Lake, Crowley Lake Fish Camp.
  • Enjoy hiking trails to Little Lakes Valley, Hilton Lakes, and other John Muir Wilderness destinations.

Key East Fork Campground Regulations

  1. Fires are only permitted in provided fire rings. Collect only down and dead wood.
  2. Keep bears away by securing your food and scented items in bear-proof lockers.
  3. Quiet Hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  4. Generators may not be operated during quiet hours. Beyond that, there is a three-hour maximum run time. Generators must be attended while running.
  5. Dogs must be on leash and attended at all times. No more than 2 pets are allowed per campsite.
