Tioga Lake Campground
Tioga Lake Campground is on the western side of Tioga Lake, off Highway 120 (Tioga Road) and only 1 mile east of Yosemite National Park. The collection of 13 campsites offers visitors beautiful views of the lake and the soaring peaks along the Sierra Crest. Nearby Mount Dana rises to 13,000 feet.
Campsites at Tioga Lake Campground are rather exposed and subject to strong winds that can blow down from Tioga Pass. Nevertheless, campers at the lake focus on the magnificent vistas of the surrounding peaks and the excellent fishing. Day trips into Yosemite, down to Mono Lake or over to Saddlebag Lake are only short drives. Trails from near Tioga Lake Campground lead up along the base of the mountains to alpine lakes such as Shell Lake, Fantail, and Spuller.
