Millerton Lake

North Shore Campgrounds

Millerton Lake is 20 miles northeast of Fresno via Highway 41 and Highway 145. The lake is part of the Millerton Lake State Recreation Area. Millerton's 4,900 surface acres are popular for boating, waterskiing, fishing, and swimming. Summer temperatures can reach 100 degrees. Many trails around the lake are used by hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers.

North Shore Campgrounds are across the lake from the marina and main launch ramps, but there is also a launch ramp within the array of campgrounds. The campgrounds include Rocky Point, Mono, Fort Miller, Dumas Strands, Valley Oak, and Meadows. The campgrounds have a total of 133 campsites, all of which can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Most of the campsites have lake views and many are lakefront. Campsites have little shade. A section of campsites in the Meadows area has full hook-ups.

Reservations at North Shore Campgrounds are non-specific, which means that other than choosing between an area with hook-ups or not, you will not be able to select a specific site on your reservation. The site will be assigned to you upon arrival. Often, when the campground is not crowded, the ranger will allow campers to choose their sites.

North Shore Campground also includes 2 Group Campsites and an Equestrian Camp. Two Boat-in Campgrounds are found along the lake's shore.
