Sheep Creek Campground
Sheep Creek Campground is located at Cedar Grove near Road's End in Kings Canyon National Park. The campsites are along the South Fork of the Kings River in an open conifer forest. Visitors who make the 30-mile drive from Grant Grove down to Cedar Grove are rewarded with a beautiful valley surrounded by towering peaks. Hiking trails lead up the canyon to Mist Falls and points with views of the Sphinx (shown above). Sheep Creek, Moraine, and Sentinel campgrounds are side by side and nearly identical.
RV Camping and Tent Camping at Sheep Creek Campground
The roads and driveways throughout Sheep Creek Campground are paved, making it easier for both RVs and smaller cars to access the campground. The 5 comfort stations throughout the campground all have flush toilets, a large sink for dish-washing, and drinking water. Every campsite has a 10x8-foot tent pad.. A number of sites will accommodate trailers or RVs up to 30 feet. Extra bear boxes are provided near the campground entrance if the one at your site is not adequate. A bike path connects Sheep Creek Campground with Sentinel Campground and other locations in Cedar Grove.
You can purchase your park entrance pass in advance online and save time at the entrance gate: Park Entrance Pass.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.
