Aspen Hollow Group Campground

Aspen Hollow Group Campground is in the Giant Sequoia National Monument near Kings Canyon National Park and only a mile from Hume Lake (shown above). Hume Lake offers opportunities for swimming, non-motorized boating, fishing, and hiking.

Visitors to Aspen Hollow Group Campground can make the short drive back to Grant Grove where there are groves of Giant Sequoias, a visitor center, campfire programs, and nature walks. Another great day trip is down to Cedar Grove with spectacular canyon views along the way. Vehicles over 22-feet long should enter the parks via Highway 180.

Aspen Hollow Group Campground has one campsite which can accommodate up to 100 people. The campground is set in a mature forest of mixed conifers. Bear-proof boxes are provided for the storage of food and other scented items.

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.

Kings Canyon and Sequoia have a wide range of scenic places to visit. Campers at Aspen Hollow Group Campground near Hume Lake are centrally located for all the attractions of the two parks.

  • Drive down to Hume Lake for fishing and swimming.
  • Participate in Ranger-led Programs at Grant Grove, Cedar Grove, Wuksachi Lodge, and John Muir Lodge.
  • Test your fishing skills along the Kings River in Cedar Grove or hike to Mist Falls.
  • Make use of a free shuttle to key sites in Sequoia's Lodgepole and Giant Forest area .
  • In Sequoia, visit beautiful Crystal Cave, climb the trail up Moro Rock for spectacular views, stand before the towering Sherman Tree, and visit the Giant Forest Museum.

Key Aspen Hollow Group Campground Regulations

  1. Dogs (except service dogs) are not permitted on any park trails or on the summer shuttle.
  2. Prevent bears from taking your supplies by storing food and similar items in bear-proof lockers, not in vehicles. Use of the lockers is required.
  3. Use only firewood from the local area to prevent spread of invasive species.
