Sweetwater Summit Regional Park Campground
Sweetwater Summit Regional Park Campground overlooks Sweetwater Reservoir, 8 miles east of Chula Vista. The 500-acre park has trails for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Fishing is a favorite activity at the reservoir. The park has horseshoe pits, a playground, an equestrian staging area, an exercise course, and an Aquatic Playground (May - October, $3).
RV Camping and Tent Camping at
Sweetwater Summit Park Campground
Sweetwater Summit Regional Park Campground offers 112 campsites for RV camping and tent camping in two loops - North and South. The North Loop has 89 sites with paved pads and full RV hook-ups. Seven are large premium sites. The South Loop has 60 campsites, nearly all with gravel pads. Seven have full RV hook-ups while the remainder have partial hook-ups (water and electricity). Of those, 12 are designated as equestrian campsites. Most of the campsites in the South Loop have at least partial shade, while those in North Loop have none.
Equestrian campsites have corrals for 2 horses.
General Camping Information
Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation site, check that the campsite you have selected will accommodate your vehicles.
Accessible Sites
Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
