Manzanita Campground is on a peninsula in the Tuttletown Recreation Area of New Melones Lake. Visitors to the campground enjoy the close proximity of a marina with boat rentals and boat launch ramp, trails along the shore of the lake, and nearby fish cleaning stations. New Melones is popular for fishing, boating, and water skiing.

Manzanita Campground has 55 campsites. Most of the sites can accommodate RV camping and tent camping. There are also a good number of walk-in, tent-only sites. Many campsites have at least partial shade, but there are a fair number that have no shade. Some campsites are available first-come, first-served.

Fishing and Boating at New Melones Lake

New Melones Reservoir is a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts seeking rewarding fishing waters. The lake is known mostly for bass fishing, but a good number of other species lurk below the surface - rainbow and brown trout, kokanee salmon, spotted bass, crappie, and catfish.

Boaters enjoy the water at New Melones Reservoir. Water skiers and wake boarders are often about all day in the summer. Fishermen favor pontoon boats or smaller fishing boats that can be maneuvered into shallow inlets.

Key Manzanita Campground Regulations

  1. Recreation area gates are closed at night and vehicle entry is not permitted when gates are closed. Exit is always available.
  2. Generators may only be operated between 10 AM and 8 PM.
  3. Dogs must be on leash and always attended. At night they must be in a tent or vehicle.
