Cattle Camp Campground
Cattle Camp Campground is spread through a pine forest only a short drive from the McCloud River. The campground is 21 miles east of Interstate 5 near the town on Mount Shasta. Visitors to Cattle Camp are close to the popular Cattle Camp swimming hole on the McCloud River and to a series of beautiful waterfalls downstream. Fifteen miles of riverside trails connect the falls and other points along the river. Roads and viewpoints also provide access to each of the falls. Fishing is good up and down the river.
Cattle Camp Campground has 27 level campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Four of the sites are doubles. All are first-come, first-served. The campsites have space for larger RVs in a few pull-through sites. Access to the campground is easy since it is only ⅓-mile off Highway 89.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.
