Jalama Beach Campground

Jalama Beach Campground is about an hour's drive north of Santa Barbara in Jalama Beach County Park. Despite its somewhat remote location, it has a loyal following of visitors who enjoy the park's great amenities and ocean-front campsites.

Jalama Beach County Park

Jalama Beach County Park spreads over 23.5 acres along the coast, 30 miles south of Vandenberg Air Force Base. While some days the beach can be windy, visitors still enjoy lounging on the sand, strolling along the edge of water, and watching for passing whales. A few experienced surfers, kitesurfers, and windsurfers head out to enjoy the ocean. Lifeguards are on duty through the summer months. Surf fishing is often successful for perch, cabezon, kelp, bass, or halibut.

Facilities at the park include a well-stocked store and the adjacent Jalama Beach Grill. The grill features its World Famous Jalama Burger along with clam chowder, chile verde, apple cake, and more. A playground is available for children. Facilities at Jalama Beach are fully accessible. Beach wheelchairs are available for those who need them.

Jalama Beach Campground

Jalama Beach Campground is adjacent to the sand and offers more than 100 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents, all overlooking the ocean or beachfront. Campsites are equipped with picnic tables and BBQ pits. Within the campground are restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers, and drinking water spigots. Electrical hookups are available at 31 campsites. Campsites must be reserved; no first-come, first-served sites are available. There is a 2-night minimum stay for weekend reservations (Friday and Saturday), and a 3-night minimum stay for holiday weekends. The park also has 2 Group Camping Areas and a number of cabins available to rent..
