Fremont Campground is located in the Santa Ynez Recreation Area, 9 miles from Cachuma Lake and 18 miles from Santa Barbara. Visitors to the campground enjoy shaded campsites close to the Santa Ynez River. Nearby White Rock Day Use Area offers both swimming and fishing.

Fremont Campground has 15 family campsites which can accommodate RVs, trailers, or tents. The campsites are among many oak trees which offer good shade. Seven campsites require a short walk-in.

Attractions near Fremont Campground: Enjoy the White Rock Day Use Area along the Santa Ynez River. Find hiking on local trails, including the 2½-mile Aliso National Recreation Trail. Go swimming in the river when water levels are safe. Enjoy horseback riding on the 18-mile Santa Cruz Trail. Find nearby OHV routes. Drive up to the Falls Day Use Area for swimming and picnicking.

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.

Visitors to Santa Barbara and Ventura counties find many great attractions along the coast as well as inland at lakes and in Los Padres National Forest. Campers at Fremont Campground are only a short drive from Cachuma Lake.

  • Enjoy the calm waters of beautiful Cachuma Lake for boating and fishing.
  • On the shore of Cachuma Lake set out on hiking trails or lake cruises. Spend time at the playground and the nature center.
  • Fish for monster bass at nearby Lake Casitas.
  • Head to the coast and surf the point at El Capitan Beach, Mondos, or Rincon Point.
  • Find excellent pier fishing off the Gaviota Pier.
  • Take off hang gliding at Douglas Preserve near Arroyo Burro Beach.
