Troy Meadow Campground

Troy Meadow Campground is a remote camping destination located just off Sherman Pass Road in the Sequoia National Forest near Domeland Wilderness Area. The campground is 10 miles west of Kennedy Meadows (in Inyo National Forest, not Sonora Pass) and 33 winding miles northwest of Johnsondale. Many who visit the area take advantage of nearby OHV trails.

Troy Meadow Campground has 73 campsites which can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Campers are asked to pack out their trash. The Blackrock Ranger Station is 2½ miles to the north.

Attractions near Troy Meadow Campground: Go 4-wheeling on the Beach Ridge OHV Trail, the Blackrock Station Trail, and Jackass Creek and Peak trails. Take a whirl at Little Horse Meadow Trail. Break out the ATVs for the Sherman Pass 4x4 Extension Trail and the Jeep Trail. Try some fishing or mountain biking.

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.

The Sequoia National Forest ranges from low foothills on the west to high Sierra peaks toward the east. River, streams, trails, and remote roads offer many recreation opportunities. Campers at Troy Meadow Campground can take advantage of all the forest has to offer.

  • Fish great little streams such as Salmon Creek, Trout Creek, Jackass Creek, Fish Creek, and Corral Creek.
  • Strike out on mountain biking trails around Deer Creek, Fish Creek, Jordan Lookout, Lion Ridge, and many more.
  • Rock climbers challenge their skills on the granite faces off Needles Lookout Trail.
  • Take a day hike on the Baker Point Trail, Chute Trail, Jacobson Trail, Lion Ridge Trail, or any of dozens more.
  • Saddle up and set out on horseback along popular trails such as Mule Peak Lookout, Lewis Camp, or Doe Meadow.
