North Shore Campground at Lake Almanor

North Shore Campground at Lake Almanor is privately owned campground open to the public. The camp is spread along the shore of 28,000-acre Lake Almanor. Visitors to Lake Almanor enjoy boating, waterskiing, fishing, swimming, and hiking. Lassen Volcanic National Park is close enough for a day trip.

North Shore Campground at Lake Almanor offers tent and RV camping along with rental cabins. RV sites have hook-ups. Some sites are lakefront. Amenities at the campground include hot showers, a general store, coin operated laundry, a boat ramp and boat slips, and a fish-cleaning station. They also have canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard rentals. During the high season there is a 2-night minimum stay. Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day camping visits carry a $10 per night additional charge with a 3-night minimum.

Take Note: The campground's policy states that the person who makes the reservation must be there to check in before anyone else from their party will be allowed to come into the North Shore Campground property.

Key North Shore Campground Regulations

  1. To avoid problems with bears, food and similar items must be stored in bear-proof lockers.
  2. During power outages, Generators may only be used from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. No generator use from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
  3. Build fires in provided fire rings.
  4. Obtain firewood locally to avoid bringing in pests.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Accessible Sites

Designated Accessible sites are reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
