Almanor Campground

Notice: "Almanor South Campground will be closed for health and safety concerns until further notice." Removal of Hazardous trees. (11/2024)

Almanor Campground is on the west shore of Lake Almanor. Visitors to the area enjoy boating, waterskiing, and fishing in 28,000-acre Lake Almanor. Nearby to the south is Canyon Dam Picnic Area with a beach and boat launch ramp. Boat rentals are available all around the lake.

Almanor Campground is divided into 2 sections - North and South loops. Legacy is now a separate campground, but we have included it here.

The campgrounds are set back from the lake's edge among the trees. Legacy is farthest from the lake. A paved bike trail connects all three. A launch ramp and lakefront area are located by the campgrounds.

Almanor North and South campgrounds have a combined 104 campsites, and nearby Legacy another 14. There are 5 walk-in, tent-only sites at Almanor North, while all other campsites can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Many sites can be reserved, while some other campsites are available first come, first served.

Legacy Campground has partial hook-ups. All Legacy sites are first come, first served. Legacy offers some double sites with hook-up (water and electric) connections for 2 RVs.

Almanor Campground offers a Group Site.
