Dockweiler RV Park
Dockweiler RV Park is located on Santa Monica Bay near Los Angeles International Airport. Beach-goers enjoy strolling the 3-mile-long beach, evening campfires, sun bathing, surfing, cycling, volleyball, and even hang gliding. This state beach is operated by Los Angeles County Department of Beaches & Harbors. Most visitors to Dockweiler Beach are used to the sound of airplanes passing overhead.
Dockweiler Beach Facilities
Dockweiler Beach has restrooms, lifeguard towers, picnic areas, volleyball courts, a bike trail, a Youth Center, food concessions, and hang gliding launching stations. Having a designated area for launching and landing hang gliders along with rising air currents make Dockweiler a favorite with local flyers. The facility is operated by Wind Sports. The Dockweiler Youth Center is used for youth activities, especially during the summer, including youth camps for ages 7 to 17. The center is also available for weddings, celebrations, and similar events.
Dockweiler RV Park boasts 117 sites, all lined up parking-lot style in 3 rows. Prices are arranged accordingly, with the beachfront sites the most expensive and the back row the most affordable. Some sites are designated for RVs only, some only for trailers. All the regular campsites have full hook-ups, but a number of dry sites have been added. There is no tent camping.
