Buckeye Flat Campground

Buckeye Flat Campground rests in the shadow of Castle Rocks along the Generals Highway near Hospital Rock in Sequoia National Park. This scenic, tent-only campground is 7 miles past the Ash Mountain Entrance Station. Campsites are spread beneath an open stand of oaks along the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River. Because of its low elevation, Buckeye Flat Campground is usually hot in the summer and snow-free in the winter. Giant Forest is a 40-minute drive away.

Tents must be kept within the provided tent pad and not cover vegetation. Visitors to the area enjoy the quiet campground along the river with opportunities for fishing, wading (when water levels are safe), and hiking.

"It is strongly recommended that vehicles over the length of 22 feet access Lodgepole Campground, Dorst Creek Campground, and the Giant Forest from the Highway 180 entrance into Kings Canyon National Park."

You can purchase your park entrance pass in advance online and save time at the entrance gate: Park Entrance Pass.
