Meeks Bay Resort Campground

Meeks Bay Resort Campground is 10 miles south of Tahoe City on Lake Tahoe's west shore. The resort is owned by the Washoe Tribe. They offer both RV and tent camping sites around a loop close to the marina and other resort facilities. Campsites are so popular that many are reserved more than a year in advance.

Both tent and RV sites have a 2-night minimum at Meeks Bay Resort Campground. Twenty-three RV campsites have full hook-ups. Several are pull through and can accommodate up to 60 feet of tow vehicle and RV. One tent is permitted in an RV site. Forty tent campsites ( also OK for small pop-up trailers) arre on the southern side of the Meeks Creek Another 14 tent campsites (and small pop-uo trailers) are on the southern side of Meeks Creek. A maximum of 2 tents are permitted in a tent site.

Key Meeks Bay Resort Campground Regulations

  1. Generators may only be operated a maximum of 2 hours during quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM. Campers are asked to be considerate.
  2. Pets are not allowed at Meeks Bay Resort.
  3. No trailers of any kind a permitted in the tent sites.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. If using a reservation website, check to be sure your vehicles will fit in the parking space for your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.

Accessible Sites

Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.

Visitors to Lake Tahoe enjoy a seemingly endless variety of activities and places to visit. Campers who pull into Meeks Bay Resort Campground are close to all the great attractions on Tahoe's southwest shore.

  • Rent paddleboards and kayaks at Tahoe City Kayak.
  • Learn to waterski at High Sierra Waterski School at Homewood or Sunnyside Marina.
  • Rent bicycles, kayaks, and paddleboards at West Shore Sports at Homewood, Sunnyside, or Tahoma.
  • Tour the Vikingsholm Mansion. Sign up for an Emerald Bay boat cruise.
  • Enjoy the exhibits at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center and the fascinating stream profile chamber.
  • Tour nearby Tallac Historic Site.
  • Pack your camera and lunch and head up the Eagle Falls trail to beautiful mountain lakes.
