Island Park Campground

Island Park Campground is on the shore of Pine Flat Lake, 35 miles east of Fresno in the Sierra foothills. The lake is operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. With a mixture of oak and pine on the surrounding hills, Pine Flat has much more the feel of a mountain lake than nearby Millerton Lake. Visitors to Pine Flat Lake enjoy exploring its winding waterways by boat, waterskiing and fishing. The lake has several launch ramps and two marinas.

Island Park Campground is the most popular of the camping destinations around the lake. The campground is located on an island-like peninsula on the north shore. Nearby is Lakeview Recreation Area. The campground has 97 campsites. Forty-four of them in an overflow area are less appealing than those in the main campground.

Twenty-five sites in the main Island Park Campground have electrical hook-ups; 15 sites are for tents only. Most sites may be reserved, but several are set aside for first-come, first served use. The campground gate closes at 10 PM and entry is not permitted again until 8 AM. Exit is allowed at any time.

Two Group Campsites are located near the main campground.
