Silver Lake West Campground

Silver Lake West Campground is near the north shore of Silver Lake on Carson Pass in the Eldorado National Forest. Silver Lake West is operated by the El Dorado Irrigation District (EID) while nearby Silver Lake East Campground is operated by the Forest Service. Visitors to Silver Lake enjoy beautiful mountains scenery, hiking trails, mountain biking, boating, and fishing.

Silver Lake West Campground has 42 campsites. Many can accommodate small RVs, trailers and tents. Sites #6, 8, 27, 28, 40, 41, 42 will accommodate RVs/trailers up to 24 feet. All campsites are first-come, first-served. EID requests that visitors fill RV and trailer water tanks before arrival at the campground.

For campground purposes, a vehicle is any equipment that is required to be licensed/registered. This includes RVs, trailers, cars/trucks, boat/car trailer, motorcycle/atv, etc. Vehicles parked in a truck or on a trailer are not counted separately.




Key Silver Lake West Campground Regulations

  1. Generators are limited to 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Guests are asked to keep the duration to a minimum.
  2. Fires are only permitted in provided fire rings.
  3. Help prevent the spread of invasive insects by obtaining firewood locally.
  4. To avoid problems with bears, please store all foods, scented items, soap, and garbage in bear boxes.
  5. Keep dogs on leash and attended at all times.
