Poso Guard Station Cabin
Poso Guard Station Cabin is located on a mountain top in the Giant Sequoia National Monument in the Sequoia National Forest, an hour northeast of Bakersfield. Built in 1933 to serve fire patrolmen stationed in the area, it is now offered as a rental cabin. With wonderful views of the San Joaquin Valley and the surrounding area, it is a unique retreat for up to 5 people. Amenities include electricity, hot and cold running water, and a furnace for fall and winter seasons.
Cabin Features
The Poso Guard Station Cabin has one bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed. The living room has a double hide-a-bed couch. In the kitchen are a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes and utensils, and a small table. The bathroom has a flush toilet and shower. Outside are a picnic table and campfire ring. There is space for cots and tents and even an RV.

Visitors to the Poso Guard Station Cabin enjoy views of the Greenhorn Mountains and especially Tobias Peak. In the summer guests enjoy biking, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. Stargazing is especially nice. Day outings might include the Tobias Fire Lookout and the Trail of 100 Giants with its magnificent groves of giant sequoias.
