Lime Saddle Campground is part of the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. The campground sits on a peninsula on the northwestern side of Lake Oroville along the West Branch of the Feather River Arm. Visitors to the campground like the close proximity of a boat ramp coupled with the quieter waters away from the main body of the lake.

Lime Saddle Campground features 35 campsites situated in loops on a ridge overlooking the lake. The sites accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Some of the sites have electric and water hook-ups. Reservations can be made for your chosen campsite.

Lime Saddle Campground has 2 tent-only group sites. Each group site can accommodate from 9 up to 24 people and a maximum of 7 vehicles.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Accessible Sites

Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.

Lake Oroville is very popular with anglers seeking bass, with boaters and water skiers, hikers, horseback riders, and anyone looking for outdoor recreation. Those who camp at Lime Saddle Campground are on a ridge above the lake. Lake Orville's wonderful recreation is nearby.

  • Set out onto the clear waters of Lake Oroville for water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, cruising, wake boarding, and swimming.
  • Around the lake find an excellent horse camp and boat-in camps. Unique floating campsites may also be reserved.
  • Tour the Lake Oroville Visitor Center with museum and exhibits.
  • Around the lake find marinas with boat rentals and launch ramps.
  • Spend a week on a houseboat cruising all the inlets and coves.
  • Hike the trails around the lake, including the popular Feather Falls trail.
  • Bicycle on the many roads and paths open to cycling.
  • In Oroville visit the Feather River Nature Center, the Pioneer History Museum, and the Feather River Fish Hatchery.

  1. Generators may only be operated between 10 AM and 8 PM.
  2. Fires must be confined to provided fire rings.
  3. Help prevent the spread of invasive insects by obtaining firewood locally.
  4. Dogs must be on leash and always attended. At night they must be in a tent or vehicle.
