Coyote Point Group Campground is located along the shore of New Hogan Lake in the foothills of Calaveras County. The campground is operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. Visitors to New Hogan Lake enjoy fishing, boating, waterskiing, mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding. Access to the lake from the group campground may be rocky; tennis shoes are advised.

Coyote Point Group Campground has 1 campsite for groups from 10 to 50 people. The site can accommodate up to 18 vehicles. Plenty of shade is found at the lakefront campground.

New Hogan Lake has over 4,000 surface acres and 45 miles of shoreline. Campers at Coyote Point Group Campground have many enjoyable attractions nearby.

  • Visitors can water ski, jet ski, sail, cruise, and fish on the 7-mile-long lake.
  • Set out and explore a network of mountain biking trails spread over the hills east of the campgrounds.
  • Hiking and equestrian trails meander around the lakeshore.

Key Coyote Point Group Campground Regulations

  1. Dogs must be on leash and always attended. At night they must be in a tent or vehicle. A maximum of 2 pets is allowed.
  2. Gates are open from 8 AM to 10 PM on weekdays, and until 11 PM on weekends.
  3. Generators may only be operated between 10 AM and 8 PM.
