Doran Regional Park Campground
Doran Regional Park Campground is situated along a narrow point of land at the mouth of Bodega Bay Harbor. The park features a 2-mile long sandy beach popular for picnicking, strolling, surf fishing, kite flying, and sand castle building. A boat launch facing the harbor is also found in the park. The ocean along the Sonoma coast is considered too dangerous for wading or swimming, although at south-facing Doran Beach the waves are usually milder. The water is cold.
Doran Regional Park Campground is arranged in a number of sections known as Jerry, Miwok, Cove, Gull and Shell. In all, there are 132 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents, along with a tent campground, a Hike & Bike campsite, and a Group Camp. Of the campsites at Doran Regional Park Campground, 112 may be reserved; there are no first-come, first-served sites. The area can be cold and windy. And be aware that the fog horn sounds regularly.
