Lake Perris Campground

Lake Perris Campground, also known as Luiseno Campground, is within the Lake Perris State Recreation Area, 11 miles southeast of Riverside. The lake is popular for boating and fishing, swimming and windsurfing. In the summer, the lake's new Waterpark features colorful inflatable floating play structures (adults $15, children $10, seven and under $5).

RV Camping and Tent Camping at Lake Perris Campground

Lake Perris Campground has areas designated for either tent camping or for RV camping. The 177 tent camping sites are in four loops (Quail (2), Road Runner, and Bobcat). The 254 RV campsites are located in 2 loops, Coyote and Deer. The RV area have electric and water hook-ups available. Lake Perris also offers 7 primitive Equestrian Campsites separate from the main campground. There are also 6 Group Campsites.

Attractions near Lake Perris Campground: Enjoy the exhibits in the fascinating Ya'l Hek'l Regional Indian Museum. Head over to Big Rock for rock climbing (at your own risk). Go swimming at either of the lake's two swimming beaches. Fish for bass, catfish, crappie, trout, and redear sunfish.

Lake Perris Campground has 6 group campsites a short distance from the main campground. Each site can accommodate up to 100 people and 20 vehicles. Sites feature shade ramadas, picnic tables, a kitchen area with counters and a sink and BBQ grill. There are no electric connections in the group area. Upon arrival check in at the main campground (Luiseno Campground).

Lake Perris Campground Equestrian Sites

Lake Perris Campground has 7 primitive equestrian campsites. Each site has a fire pit, picnic table and 2 corrals. Watering troughs are available. Piped water is available along with chemical restrooms. Reservations cover 8 people and 2 horses per site. Dogs are not allowed on the trails. Sites can usually accommodate 2 vehicles with trailers or 1 vehicle with trailer and an RV. For more information see Horse Camping.

Fishing and Boating at
Lake Perris

Fishing is popular at Lake Perris. The lake is stocked with Alabama spotted bass, along with rainbow trout, channel catfish, and Florida bluegill. The lake also has a healthy population of largemouth bass. There are also black crappie, carp, and crayfish. Bow Fishing is now allowed at Lake Perris.

All kinds of boating are permitted on Lake Perris. Jet skis, pleasure cruisers, ski boats, fishing boats, and patio boats are often seen on the lake. After several years with no full-service marina, things have finally changed. Rentals of boats began in summer 2024.

Riverside County has a wide range of recreation areas and great attractions. Campers staying at Lake Perris Campground are close to many of these popular destinations.


Lake Perris Campground Regulations

  1. Fires are only permitted in provided fire rings.
  2. Quiet Hours run from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  3. Generators may only be operated between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
  4. Pets must be kept on leash and always attended. Pets must be confined to tent or vehicle at night.
  5. Drains in RV loops are for gray water (sink water) only.
