Beals Point Campground is the most popular of the campgrounds around Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. Spread along the west shore of Folsom Lake, the campground is a favorite with boaters and other lake visitors who appreciate all of the great amenities at the campground and its proximity to the lake. Visitors enjoy wading, swimming, boating, water skiing, fishing, cycling, and just relaxing around the lake's edge.

Beals Point Campground has 64 family-size campsites. Seventeen are designated for RVs or trailers only. Some of those sites have full hook-ups. Nineteen campsites are limited to tents only. The remainder of the sites can accommodate RVs, trailers, or tents.

Attractions and Activities

Folsom Lake is a popular boating recreation destination for nearby Sacramento residents as well as from around the state. Those who camp at Beals Point Campground are close to all the main venues at the lake.

  • Spend the day water skiing, jet skiing, sail, cruising, and fishing on more than 11,000 acres of water.
  • Launch your boat at one of several ramps. Rent boats at various spots around the lake
  • Enjoy picnics at Folsom Point, Granite Bay, Beals Point, or Peninsula Campground.
  • Go horseback riding along miles of trails. Find an equestrian Staging Area at Granite Bay with hitching rails and water trough. Also find staging areas at Rattlesnake Bar, Brown's Ravine, Falcon Crest, and Sterling Pointe.
  • Find ninety-five miles of trails for bicyclists, runners, horseback riders, and hikers.
  • Stroll along the Oaks Nature Trails.
  • Cycle on the paved bike trail connecting Beals Point to the American River Hike & Bike Trail.
  • Visit the Sacramento State Aquatic Center at nearby Lake Natoma.

Key Beals Point Campground Regulations

  1. Fires must be in provided fire pits.
  2. Generators may only be operated between 10 AM and 8 PM.
  3. Prevent the spread of invasive insects by obtaining firewood locally.
  4. Dogs must be on leash and always attended. At night they must be in a tent or vehicle.

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.
