Meadow Group Campground is located off Highway 2 (the Angeles Crest Highway) near Chilao Campground in the Angeles National Forest. Visitors to the area enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. A number of trails in the area offer great opportunities for exploring the San Gabriel Mountains. The popular Chilao Visitor Center is 1½ miles away. The campground is among Coulter pines, scrub oaks and grasslands.

Meadow Group Campground has two group campsites. One site can accommodate up to 24 people and 6 vehicles. The other site will hold up to 80 people and 20 vehicles. The gate to the campground is secured by a combination lock. Groups with reservations must call and obtain the combination prior to arrival at the campground. With a limited water supply at the campground, campers are encouraged to bring their own water.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Designated Accessible sites are reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.

Groups camping at Meadow Group Campground in the Angeles National Forest find a wide variety of destinations to explore in the San Gabriel Mountains.

Key Meadow Group Campground Regulations

  1. Fires are only permitted in fire rings.
  2. Quiet Hours run from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  3. Dogs must be on leash and attended at all times.
  4. A National Forest Adventure Pass is needed for vehicles parked in non-fee campgrounds on the Angeles, Cleveland, Los Padres and San Bernardino National Forests.
