Almanor Campground is located on the west shore of Lake Almanor in the Lassen National Forest. Visitors to the area enjoy boating, waterskiing, and fishing in 28,000-acre Lake Almanor. The campground is divided into 3 sections - North, South and the new Legacy loop. The campgrounds are set back from the lake's edge among the trees. Legacy is farthest from the lake. A paced bike trail connects all three. A launch ramp and lakefront area are located by the campgrounds. Nearby to the south is Canyon Dam Picnic Area with a beach and boat launch ramp.
Almanor North and South campgrounds have 104 campsites and nearby Almanor Legacy another 13. There is one tent-only site in the complex, while all other campsites can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Legacy has partial hook-ups. Some specific sites can be reserved, but many are non-specific, meaning that a site will be assigned to upon arrival. Other sites are kept open for first come, first served.
Also there are 2 Group Sites.
