Hayden Flat Campground is along Highway 299 in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, 74 miles west of Redding. Good access to the Trinity River is available from the campground. Visitors to the area like rafting, fishing, and swimming as well as the beautiful scenery. A nice picnic spot along the river is found several miles to the west at Cedar Flat Picnic Area.

Hayden Flat Campground has 35 shaded campsites which can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. Most of the campsites are across the highway from the river while a few are long the river. All of the standard sites are first-come, first-served, but three or more sites can be reserved for group use.
