Humboldt Redwoods State Park is the guardian of thousands of acres of old-growth coastal redwoods. Groups that set up their tents in the Marin Garden Club Group Camp are right along the Avenue of the Giants.

Key Marin Garden Club Group Camp Regulations

  1. Wood collecting in the park is not permitted. That includes even twigs and leaves.
  2. Generators may only be operated sparingly from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
  3. Prevent problems with bears by storing food and similar items in bear-proof lockers.
  4. RVs and trailers are not permitted at this tents-only campground.

Marin Garden Club Group Camp

Marin Garden Club Group Camp is located in a redwood grove along the Avenue of the Giants, a short distance north of Weott. Campers here enjoy swimming, hiking, cycling, and fishing. The group camp's central location makes a great base from which to visit the rest of the park.

Marin Garden Club Group Camp has 1 group site for between 9 and 40 people. The camp is designated for tent camping only. Although there are no showers at the group sites, campers may use the showers at nearby Burlington Campground.

ReserveCalifornia Reservations Tips

California State Parks' new reservation system - ReserveCalifornia - now allows campers "to make reservations 6 months to the day in advance of their arrival date." For example, on January 1 reservations can be made for stays beginning on July 1. In the past, reservations were released in one-month blocks. Now it is day by day. For months with fewer days than the month 6 months away, reservations for the remaining days will be released in a small cluster on the first of the next month. For example, on March 1 (because February is a short month) you can make reservations for stays beginning August 29-31. Read details at ReserveCalifornia.
