Albee Creek Campground

Albee Creek Campground is in Humboldt Redwoods State Park on Mattole Road, 5 miles west of Avenue of the Giants. The campground adjoins the Rockefeller Forest. Many campsites are under second-growth redwoods. The campground is close to enjoyable hiking and mountain biking trails. Swimming is available 4 miles east in the South Fork of the Eel when water levels are safe, and wading in nearby Bull Creek or Albee Creek can be refreshing.

Albee Creek Campground offers 37 campsites. Eighteen are designated as tent-only. The remainder can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. The campground also has 5 environmental sites nearby and a Hike & Bike campsite.

Reservations available: Reservations can be made for camping dates from late May through early September. At other times when the campground is open, all sites are first come, first served.

Humboldt Redwoods State Park is the guardian of thousands of acres of old-growth coastal redwoods. Campers at Albee Creek Campground are among the redwoods, away from the center of the park.

Key Albee Creek Campground Regulations

  1. Wood collecting is not allowed, including twigs and leaves.
  2. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  3. Generators may only be operated sparingly from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
  4. Properly store food and scented items in bear-proof lockers to prevent bears from getting to them.
