Grizzly Creek Campground

Grizzly Creek Campground is one mile southwest of Bucks Lake, near a feeder stream to Grizzly Creek. Campers at Grizzly Creek appreciate the quiet of a smaller site.

Sandy Point Day-use Area with a boat launch ramp is about a 4½-mile drive at Bucks Lake. Bucks Lake Lodge is about 2½ miles away from the campground.

Grizzly Creek Campground has 11 campsites. Eight of those sites can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents; the others are tent-only. The campground is well shaded by a mature conifer forest.

Located in the northern Sierra Nevada, just south of the Cascade Range, the scenic Plumas National Forest is filled with wonderful places to visit and things to do. Those who camp at Grizzly Creek Campground are close to Bucks Lake and other attractions in the forest.

  • Hike in the Bucks Lake Wilderness.
  • Spend the day at Plumas Eureka State Park.
  • Visit Black Mountain lookout for great views of Honey Lake and surrounding country.
  • Spend some days at Little Grass Valley Recreation Area and enjoy boating, waterskiing, sailing, and fishing.
  • Take a scenic drive through the Indian Valley Area north of Quincy.
  • Hike portions of the famous Pacific Crest Trail.
  • Horseback ride in Deanes Valley or Lakes Basin.
  • Fish in Lake Davis, Antelope Lake, and round Valley Reservoir.
  • Head out for some OHV excitement at Bucks Lake Recreation Area or Gold Lake.
  • Take your boat out to Lake Davis, Antelope Lake, or Lower Bucks Lake.
