The Equestrian Campground at New Hogan Lake is in the Monte Vista Recreation Area on the southwest side of the lake. The Equestrian Campground was developed and installed in 1996 by Lodi Boy Scout Justin Joyner as his Eagle Scout project. Visitors to the campground enjoy miles of equestrian trails along the shore of the lake leading into the Slate Creek and Whiskey Creek areas.
The Equestrian Campground has 4 campsites, all partially shaded by oaks. There is no drinking water available at the campground. When the lake is full, the campsites are only about 100 yards from the water's edge.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the reservation website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, obtain firewood locally.
Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
