Lake McClure is known for its outstanding facilities for boaters and campers. Those camped at Bagby Campground are at a more secluded area of the lake.

Key Bagby Regulations

  1. Quiet Hours extend from 11 PM to 7 AM.
  2. Water may still be in short supply after California's drought.

Bagby Campground

Bagby Campground is located on the far eastern arm of Lake McClure where the Merced River feeds into the lake. The campground is only a short distance off Highway 49 south of Coulterville. Visitors to Bagby Campground like its quiet location along the river and its more intimate campground setting. Fishing for trout is especially good here.

Bagby Campground has 30 campsites. Among those are 10 sites with water and electric hook-ups. The other sites can accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents. The campsites are about a half mile upstream from the boat launching facility.

Check carefully on the reservation website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.
