Potato Patch Campground rests along Deer Creek in the Lassen National Forest, 44 miles northwest of Chico. Campground visitors find a tranquil setting among mature oaks, pines, firs. Nearby are good trails and dirt roads, opportunities for mountain biking, and excellent fishing for rainbow trout (check California fishing regulations for this area). Lake Almanor with boating and fishing is only a half-hour drive to the east. The southwestern entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park is 28 miles to the north.

Potato Patch Campground features 32 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Sites are arranged in 2 loops. All of the campsites are first-come, first served.
