Willow Campground is 5½ miles up South Lake Road from its junction with Highway 168 in the Inyo National Forest. The little tent-only campground makes a quiet retreat for those who favor a little privacy. Willow Campground is only 1½ miles from beautiful South Lake, which is known for its excellent fishing. Hikers set out from South Lake, finding a number of scenic lakes only a few miles up the trail.
Willow Campground has 8 tent-only campsites. Most of the sites are tucked in among aspen trees and rocks, providing ample privacy. There is no drinking water provided at the campground. The maximum stay at the campground is 7 days.
General Camping Information
Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the reservation site when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite. Purchase firewood locally to avoid spreading pests. The length of time campers may stay at a particular Forest Service campground varies. Usually it is 14 days, but some allow longer stays while a few of the most popular campgrounds limit stays to 7 days.
Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
