Iris Meadow Campground

Iris Meadow Campground is located on Rock Creek Road, 4 miles west of Highway 395 at Toms Place. The campground is favored for its quiet setting around a small meadow framed with aspens, pines, and willows. In the spring wild iris bloom in the meadow along with other wildflowers.

Campers at Iris Meadow Campground take advantage of beautiful Rock Creek Lake, only 5 miles up the road. Rock Creek Lake is popular for swimming, boating, and fishing. Anglers are drawn to the lake's population of Alpers trout. Rock Creek Lake has a 5 MPH speed limit. A little farther up the road are great trails for day hikes into Little Lakes Valley.

Iris Meadow Campground has 14 campsites around the meadow and along Rock Creek. Many sites are tucked in among aspens and have good privacy while others are more open. All the sites are first-come, first served. The maximum length of stay here is 7 days.

Key Iris Meadow Campground Regulations

  1. Dogs must be kept on leash and always attended. No more than 2 pets are permitted per campsite.
  2. Fires are only allowed in provided fire rings. Collect only down and dead firewood.
  3. Avoid problems with bears by storing food and scented items in bear-proof lockers.
  4. Quiet Hours run from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  5. Generators are allowed only during non-quiet hours; three-hour maximum run time and must be attended while running.
