All along the beautiful Eastern Sierra ae many scenic and interesting places to explore.
Campers at East Fork Campground are close to Rock Creek Lake and the interesting Little Lakes Valley. Farther away are even more adventures.

  • Fish for trout in popular Bishop Creek or nearby Lake Sabrina and South Lake.
  • Take a day hike up the trail into Little Lakes Valley at Rock Creek.
  • Enjoy a day at Rock Creek Lake's beach area, swimming and fishing.
  • Mountain bike along several challenging trails in the Rock Creek area.
  • Hike up Big Pine Creek past waterfalls to actor Lon Chaney's wilderness cabin.
  • Go on a trail ride with Rock Creek Pack Station or near Lake Sabrina and North Lake see Bishop Pack Outfitters.
  • Find great fishing at Convict Lake, Rock Creek Lake, and Lake Crowley.
  • Enjoy wonderful hiking trails leading into the Sierra Nevada.
  • Spend days among the beautiful Mammoth Lakes.

Key East Fork Campground Regulations

  1. Fires are only permitted in provided fire rings. Collect only down and dead wood.
  2. Keep bears away by securing your food and scented items in bear-proof lockers.
  3. Quiet Hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  4. Generators may not be operated during quiet hours. Beyond that, there is a three-hour maximum run time. Generators must be attended while running.
  5. Dogs must be on leash and attended at all times. No more than 2 pets are allowed per campsite.

East Fork Campground

East Fork Campground is spread along Rock Creek Road, 6½ miles west of Highway 395 at Tom's Place. Campers at East Fork Campground are only 3 miles from pretty Rock Creek Lake with swimming, fishing, and boating. Rock Creek Lake has a 5 MPH speed limit. A nice day-use area with a beach is located on the southeastern side of the lake. Several miles farther up the road are popular trails for day hikes into Little Lakes Valley. Nearby are mountain biking trails.

East Fork Campground has 133 campsites around several loops. Some sites are along the creek with good shade, others are more open. Twenty-five sites are designated for tents only. The rest of the campsites can accommodate RVs, trailers and tents. Sixty-two campsites have non-specific reservations, which means campers with reservations for those sites will be assigned a specific site upon arrival.

Attractions near East Fork Campground: Head three miles up to Rock Creek Lake for fishing, boating, and swimming. Take advantage of their unimproved boat launch ramp. Rock Creek Lake Resort offers cabin rentals, boat rentals, a store, and a popular cafe. Nearby are hiking trails to Little Lakes Valley, Hilton Lakes, and other John Muir Wilderness destinations. Rock Creek Pack Station has trail rides, pack trips and other activities. Anglers will appreciate that it is only ten miles to Crowley Lake and Crowley Lake Fish Camp.

General Camping Information

Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the reservation site when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite. Purchase firewood locally to avoid spreading pests.

Accessible Sites

Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
