Bear River Lake Resort is situated on the north shore of Lower Bear River Reservoir in the Eldorado National Forest. The resort is about 3 miles south of Highway 88 via Bear River Road. The Bear River Lake Resort campground has 152 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. The campground offers partial hook-ups (15amp) and many other amenities ranging from showers to a laundromat.

Lower Bear River Reservoir is popular for boating, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking, and even water skiing. Nearby trails lead hikers to the upper Bear River Reservoir and beyond into Long Valley.

The popularity of the resort makes reservations highly recommended. A 2-night minimum stay is required on weekends and 3 nights on holiday weekends. The resort also as a Group Campsite.
