Horse Flats Campground

Horse Flats Campground is located off Highway 2 (the Angeles Crest Highway) near Three Points in the Angeles National Forest. Trails leading out of the campground connect with many popular trails such as the Silver Moccasin Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and the High Desert National Recreation Trail.

Horse Flats Campground has 26 campsites for small RVs, trailers, and tents. Camping is not restricted to those with horses. Campsites are well spaced apart and surrounded by mature pines. Unlike nearby campgrounds, Horse Flats is rarely crowded. Previous campers report that sites #5, 9 and 11 offer the best shade. No water is available at the campground.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on snow conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Designated Accessible sites are reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.
